one couple's unexpected journey to parenthood

I am a 29 year-old female with a background in Social Work and childcare, though at the present time I am a stay-at-home mama. I love to do all things crafty– sewing, knitting, drawing, painting, scrapbooking, etc. I love to work in my garden, though I don’t get to do so as often as I would like! I am currently mama to Bug and hoping to add a new baby to our little family within the next year or so.

My husband is 31 years old and works full-time as a mechanical engineer. He loves video games, photography, drawing, water-coloring, and putting things together. Lately he has also been enjoying learning all about astronomy. He loves to cook and he won me over when we were dating by cooking all of my favorite foods. He is an AMAZING daddy!

Cat (not her real name) is a lovely 11 year-old grey and white cat. She likes treats, playing with string, and curling up with her mama to watch chick flicks. She also likes to sit in her dad’s lap while he plays video games. She does not really like Bug, but has kind of gotten used to her.

After trying to conceive for 15 months, and suffering a prior miscarriage, we finally successfully conceived our first child. We welcomed our daughter (whose real name is not actually Bug) on May 23, 2014, exactly two weeks before her due date!

Wow we have a lot in common! I’m also 28 and work with kids. Hubby is 29. We have a cat. We’ve been trying for fifteen months! Lol. Congrats on your baby and all the best to you!
